![]()
Gatheryn is home to a number of interesting people, including the shopkeepers, workers, and prominent citizens of Elymia. These characters are called NPCs, or "Non-Player Characters," because they're not controlled by other Gatheryn players. In many cases, you can interact with these NPCs simply by clicking on them. Roll your cursor over an NPC, and if they light up, they have something to say! Click on them to strike up a conversation. This will allow you to be served at shops, gossip with the townsfolk, or learn some clues about Elymia's mysteries. When you click on an NPC, they will speak to you in a pop-up window which lets you know what they're saying and doing. Read their dialogue carefully... they may let a secret slip, or they may even ask you to do them a favor for a handsome reward! At the bottom of the window, you can click the button which contains your desired response to the NPC. When they are done speaking with you, the window will close; you can also end the conversation at any time by clicking the "X" in the top right corner. Many NPCs in Gatheryn could use a helping hand with their problems or desires. If you see a character with a red exclamation point floating above them, then they have something important on their mind! Interact with these NPCs and listen carefully to what they have to say. You may find yourself doing them a small favor, or even helping them to carry out a secret plan – and they may have a reward for you.

Managing and interacting with these items will allow you to put them to use! To examine your current items, check your Inventory by pressing the I key. To examine your current clothing or remove an item, use the equipment panel with the U key. You will see the items you are currently wearing. To remove clothing, double-click an icon; the item will move back to your inventory. To consume food and drink, select the edible/potable item in your inventory, and then click it with the right mouse button; your character will eat or drink the item. Food grants a health benefit immediately, while drinks take a little while to fully "kick in." Try different meals to see which ones grant the most health! HEALTH
As you spend time working and playing in the world of Gatheryn, your character will find himself slowly losing strength. Take care to give yourself a break before fatigue overwhelms you! At the top-left of your screen, you will see a red bar underneath your name. This represents your remaining stamina. To check exactly how much health you have left, point the mouse at the bar for a numerical readout. Health will slowly decrease on its own while you are in the game, and it will also take a small dip every time you play a minigame. If it drops below 50%, you won't be able to sprint with the SHIFT key anymore -- and if it runs out entirely, you won't be able to move faster than a walk! To regain health, you can let your character sit down, by typing /sit in the chat bar, or clicking the "Sit" command in your hotbar (SHIFT + H). This will replenish health at a very slow rate. To rejuvenate yourself faster, give your character something to eat or drink! Buy or collect an edible item, and then right-click on its icon in your inventory to consume it. NAVIGATION
